随着圣诞节的临近,商场、餐厅、广场等各处洋溢着节日的喜庆。趁着这一好时机,我们可以开展一些活动,让学生在了解西方文化习俗的同时充分练习听说,达到寓学于乐、活学活用的效果。本期,《英语学习辅导报》征集了一些有趣的创意,希望能给广大英语教师一些参考。
Tip 1 Play the song Jingle Bells
Hello, everyone! Today we are going to spend a happy Christmas together. First let’s listen to a nice song called “Jingle Bells”. Then you can learn to sing the song after the tape. We will find out who is the best one to sing the song and we will give him or her a CD as a prize. OK, now listen carefully!
在组织活动之前,教师应事先做些调查,了解班里喜欢唱歌的学生;在播放圣诞歌的时候,有意识地鼓励这些学生放声歌唱,带动全班氛围。
Tip 2 Draw pictures about Christmas
As we all know, it is a beautiful song about Christmas. Everyone knows that Christmas is the most important festival in the western countries,just like our Spring Festival. How many things do you know about Christmas? Now, every group recommends a student who can draw well. We will let him or her come to the blackboard to draw the things about Christmas. Then we will choose the best one to give him or her some beautiful pictures as a prize. Now come to the blackboard and draw the pictures.
教师应鼓励绘画的学生放开思路,尽情发挥想像力。而且,在学生上台绘画的同时,继续播放圣诞歌,保持欢愉的气氛。
Tip 3 Tell the stories
教师事先了解一些与圣诞相关的知识,然后给学生呈现key words and sentences,请学生分组准备故事。各组可以采取推举代表发言或各成员合作讲述等方式,在活动最后教师应评出最佳小组和最佳表现者。

讲述故事是训练学生口语的有效途径。对处于不同阶段的学生,教师应提供符合学生实际水平的提示语。
Tip 4 Prepare for Christmas party
Every group chooses a story that you like to write a play. You prepare the performances and I prepare the Christmas presents. Then we will have a Christmas party. OK?
教师需要根据班级学生的人数合理分组,在给各组分配任务时,还要细化组内各成员的任务,以防活动流于形式。
